This drawing was done during the time when the Nationalist Government was losing their stronghold on South Africa. I did a series of works called the Deconstruction of a prickly pear, an analogy of the government indoctrination by making the white people of SA think that “all was well”, but do not “touch” us. The kites symbolize the potential of freedom for all.
