This oil painting was done representing my emotions shortly after my mother passed away.
This oil painting was done shortly after my mother passed away in 1997 after a very difficult and traumatic illness. It was a very difficult time in my life and as I loved her so much, her passing stirred up many emotions. The idea and symbolism of the containment (sarcophagus) and release of the soul, is depicted.
