This silkscreen print was done to describe the complexities of the end and “deconstruction” of the ruling Nationalist Party. The prickly pear is a symbol that I used many times to address the conduct of the SA National party ie: everything often looked OK from the outside, especially to white South Africans, but if you touch us, you will get “pricked.”
